Adult Sunday Morning Classes
Fellowship Hall
The Jack King Class meets at the stage end of Fellowship Hall. Contemporary books with scripture and compelling stories of faith designed for a one-hour study are used. Earl Jones leads our reading and discussion and helps us explore the real riches in our lives “that will last and endure, that won’t rust or corrode or become boring or out of style.”
The Seekers Class meets at the kitchen end of Fellowship Hall. We teach corporately, that is, no one is the only teacher. We also choose the material for our class together…very democratic. Whatever book we choose, we often read together on Sunday because people often do not have time to read outside the class. Lively discussions are not unusual.
The Adult Bible Study Class meets in the George Stephens Room off the northwest corner of Fellowship Hall. Our class discusses and expands on the liturgy read during worship service using a variety of Bibles and commentaries.
Second Floor of the Education Building
Parents under Construction is a Sunday School class for parents with preschool and elementary school-aged children. They meet on the second floor of the Educational Building.
The Becomers Class meets in the library. We are a sharing group. We welcome everyone who is searching for real everyday solutions to the encounters of our everyday life. Our tools are the Word, prayer, private and corporate, soul-searching, sharing our joys and sorrows and honest telling and listening. We are committed to loving, caring and sharing and Becoming the best we can possibly be for ourselves, for Christ, His church and community at large.
Third Floor
The Sandwich Generation (formerly Parenting) meets in the open room with the couches. This is an informal drop-in class where we discuss faith and family issues. Feel free to join us for one Sunday or many. Maybe you need a place to sit while your children are in Sunday School or simply want to meet with other people in the church. We invite you to join us on the couches of the third floor.
The Discovery Group meets in the Northwest corner room on the Educational Building’s top floor. In an atmosphere of encouragement and safety, we share leadership, prayer needs, prayer time and study discussion in an effort to support each others faith journeys. We use contemporary books as a guide each Sunday. Starting 2/6/11 we will begin Karen Armstrong's " Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life"
