Sunday School – 9:45 a.m.
Sunday School classes are a great place to make friends and learn. Our goal is to help children and youth grow in faith and discipleship in a loving atmosphere. We encourage children to invite their friends.
We provide activities in Noah’s Nursery for the youngest children during worship services, Sunday School hours and during special events. Children less than three years old should go to the nursery during Sunday School.
- Pre –K - 3 years to Kindergarten.
- Elementary Grades 1-3
- Noah’s Nursery, Pre-K and Elementary 1-3 are located on the lower level of the Education Building.
- Elementary Grades 4-6 are located on the second floor of the Education Building.
- Youth (ages 12-18) meet on the third floor, southeast corner of the educational building.
ArtCare After-School Program
Motivated by a shortage of after-school care availability and interests in community arts, a new after-school care program has been developed with the support of the First United Methodist Church of Webster Groves. ArtCare’s Director, Kandy Giles is an experienced art educator, a Webster University student working toward an Art Education degree and K-12 certification, a community member and mother of Avery student Theodor Giles.
ArtCare’s themes are based on creativity and expression. The highly regarded methods of Reggio Emilia educators inspire us in creating an environment that accommodates an atmosphere of playfulness and joy, by focusing on student directed and student centered projects of expression, which support any interests.
After-school care will be offered every day Avery Elementary School is in session and on early release days.We are considering offering care during Spring Break, but we will need input from parents to determine if we can get sufficient enrollment for that time period.

Investing In Our Youth
The Mississippi Youth Mission Trip is scheduled for June, 2012, to
Hancock County to continue to help people rebuild their homes and
lives from the Katrina Hurricane.
In the first two Sundays in March, the youth will be selling
Mississippi Youth Stock to allow the congregation, relatives, and
friends to help support our trip. When you purchase stock you will be
the benefactor of helping a youth go on this journey as Jesus’ hands
and feet in action to serve. Also, you will be invited to a dinner
later in the summer to hear about our mission trip and experience.
